1. What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website when you visit it. They are widely used to make websites work, to improve efficiency, and to provide information to site owners. This Cookie Policy explains which cookies Slate and Pixel LLC d/b/a GoodPostal ("GoodPostal," "we," "us") uses, why we use them, and how you can control them.

2. Cookies We Use

GoodPostal uses a minimal number of cookies, focused on essential functionality. We do not use advertising cookies or sell cookie data to third parties.

These cookies are strictly necessary for the Service to function and cannot be disabled.

4. Functional Cookies

These cookies enable enhanced functionality and personalization.

5. Third-Party Cookies

5.1 Stripe

When you interact with billing or payment features, Stripe may set cookies to process payments securely, prevent fraud, and comply with PCI DSS requirements. These cookies are set directly by Stripe and are governed by Stripe's Privacy Policy. GoodPostal does not control Stripe's cookies.

5.2 Google Analytics

Our public marketing pages use Google Analytics 4 to measure how people find and move through the site. That includes the sign-in and sign-up pages. It is never loaded inside the GoodPostal application, the admin area, the account-consent screens, or on password-reset, invitation, and verification links, so what you do with your contacts, templates, and campaigns is never sent to Google.

Google Analytics sets two first-party cookies on those pages (_ga and _ga_*) that hold a random identifier so repeat visits from the same browser are counted once. They last up to two years, and they never contain your name, email address, or anything you do inside the application. No advertising cookies are set.

We also report a small number of milestones to Google Analytics so we can see how many people who arrive on the site go on to become customers. Those milestones are: signing up, verifying your email address, connecting an email sending service, verifying a sender address, submitting a nonprofit verification request, starting a checkout, completing a payment and its amount, and sending your first campaign. Each report carries the milestone, the plan, and the amount where there is one. None of them carries your name, your email address, your workspace name, or anything about your contacts.

5.3 Microsoft Clarity

Our public marketing pages also use Microsoft Clarity to record how pages are used: which parts of a page get clicked and scrolled, and a replay of the mouse movements, clicks, and scrolling in a visit. It runs on a narrower set of pages than Google Analytics: never on the sign-in or sign-up pages, and never inside the GoodPostal application, the admin area, the account-consent screens, or on password-reset, invitation, and verification links. Moving from a marketing page to any of those loads the new page fresh, and Clarity is not on it.

Clarity sets two first-party cookies on those pages: _clck, which holds a random identifier so repeat visits from the same browser are counted once and lasts 1 year, and _clsk, which ties the pages of a single visit together and lasts 1 day. Neither contains your name or email address.

Text you type is masked before it leaves your browser, so what a replay shows in an input field is blocked-out characters and not what you entered. Clarity is not loaded on the sign-in or sign-up pages at all, so no password reaches it in the first place. Recordings are held by Microsoft and governed by Microsoft's Privacy Statement.

5.4 No Advertising Cookies

GoodPostal does not use advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or social media tracking pixels, and Google Analytics advertising features are switched off. We do not track you across other websites.

6. Managing Cookies

You can control and manage cookies in several ways:

6.1 Browser Settings

Most web browsers allow you to manage cookies through their settings. You can typically find these settings in the "Privacy" or "Security" section of your browser preferences. You can:

• View which cookies are stored on your device
• Delete specific cookies or all cookies
• Block cookies from specific sites
• Block all third-party cookies
• Set your browser to notify you when cookies are being set

6.2 Impact of Disabling Cookies

If you disable essential cookies, you will not be able to log in to GoodPostal or use the Service. The session and CSRF cookies are required for the application to function. Disabling functional cookies (such as the theme preference) will not prevent you from using the Service but may affect your experience.

7. Cookie Consent

Cookie consent is handled as follows:

• Essential cookies do not require consent under most privacy regulations (including GDPR and the ePrivacy Directive) because they are strictly necessary for the Service to function. The GoodPostal application itself sets only these.
• Functional cookies (theme preference) are set based on your explicit action (choosing a theme), which constitutes consent.
• Analytics cookies (Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity) are set on the public marketing pages only, on the basis of our legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used. You can block them in your browser, or with Google's opt-out add-on for Google Analytics; the site works the same either way.
• Third-party cookies (Stripe) are set only when you interact with payment features and are governed by Stripe's own consent mechanisms.

8. Changes to This Policy

If we introduce new categories of cookies, we will update this Cookie Policy, implement appropriate consent mechanisms, and notify you of the changes.
